responding to the ‘ai: more than human’ exhibition at the barbican in 2019, this series of cyborg-inspired statement masks was born as a first and only natural response to getting a 3d printer.
combining clean-cut digital processes with a crisp, synthetic colour, the masks seamlessly blend with the wearer’s features, showing a seductive glimpse of human-robot transformation. using distorted retouching techniques to further highlight this hybrid blend, the work emphasizes on the rapid growth of artificial intelligence and its progressive integration into our everyday lives.
